of
his latest pieces. Copyright of any music is owned by him and his

entity.Copyright of the Star Trek franchise to Paramount etc. I'm doing
this for love of all of the above. No money. Dammit.

Kirk paused at the entrance to his First Officer's quarters. "Are you
certain I'm not intruding, Mr. Spock?" He'd stopped in confusion as
the rich tones of the music filled the Vulcan's space. Spock
appeared to be listening raptly.
"Not at all, Captain. Jim. I am investigating early 21st century
musical forms, and I found an apparently previously unknown sample from
one of
the greats, a man named Pearson. It was embedded in an early form of
communication from his father to a family friend."
"That's Pearson? Amazing. That must have been when he was young. It's
beautiful, Spock. That's quite an accomplishment. Pearson, as I recall,
put out an amazing body of music. He was an accomplished composer, and
some
of his treatments are still taught in music classes. That's another
feather in
your cap, Spock."
"Yes, it is esthetically pleasing. And it has appeal on a personal
level. Did you not first 'smile at me on a day in June?', t'hy'la?"
"I did at that, Spock. I'd forgotten when it was. We were in space...You looked so grave."
"I was captivated. I wanted you then, and I was certain that this was a
desire which must have been naked to your gaze."Spock's voice
grew wistful."I had no way to express myself, and I feared you
would not
return my affections...'I longed for this day'," he quoted. "'I
waited
patiently for this day' ...and I did not think it would
come. But I was content to
wait."
Jim mouthed the words "Let me show you..". Feeling his chest swell, he
sat on the bunk, next to his husband. "Show me, Spock."
And though the song made its rounds in musical history, and was much
lauded as a previously lost work of that famous musician, Jim never again
heard it without seeing Vulcan eyes.
