Requiem

Once in silence by your side I stood
My strength in your strength, our shared brotherhood
You needed no words; I had few to give
From the cage of my pride in which I live.
I could wish I had spoken a few words more
The prison I built would then have a door
Through which I could walk. Be as Human as you.
But always there are things that Vulcans don't do.
Today I touched you. You sleep your last sleep.
And I in my silence

I wish I could weep.
